What gauge would you go for belly 14 or 16?

14g is the normal size for a navel piercing.

ummm...i'm a licensed body piercer and I think I know what your supposed to use for certain piercings. you do not use a larger gauge needle for a smaller gauge piece of jewelry because it leaves a larger opening for infection. please know what your talking about if your going to give advice. and better yet don't give advice at all on my auction. I work in a shop so I can take care of any questions or concerns...

how about you get a life...and stop giving advice that can really hurt somebody. I have to fix and repierce people everyday because stupid un-informed people like you give their "friends" bad advice...advice they had no business giving in the first place...lets leave the piercing advice and information to the one with the license shall we,thatd be me...and your blocked from my auctions. congrats

is a 14 g used for the nose or 16...

normally a nose piercing is done with a 18g needle and a 18g piece of jewelry...however some people will then put in a piece of 20g jewelry after initial healing. i don't have the 18g needles up for auction at this time.

Small gauge for the nose. I think mine was 18 or something like that. You dont want a huge hole in your nose unless you're doing the septum thing. Of course, I'm no professional. But I do have a comment/question for the professional:
My lip and labret both were done professionally at tye dye tattoo and they did it with 14 ga. Now my eyebrow is 16 ga. My monroe piercing was also a 14 ga, but I think it would've healed better and worked out for me if it were a smaller gauge.
I'd like to have it done again but its caused a scar and I'm not sure how well a new piercing would take over the scar tissue. What do you think?
Apr 19th, 2011 at 4:02:54 PM PDT by

yes i agree the 16g would have worked better for the monroe and lip...labret is done in 14g. you will be able to re-pierce but it will be alittle more painful thru scar tissue as it takes more pressure to go through. feel free to ask if you have any further questions dear.
