You said controllers.. do they come with it? Do you have to have them? Does it have everything we need to just plug in and play?

The controller part must mean the little button on each side of the handles. You will have everything ...no plugs...it is battery-operated, and there are New batteries inside. She will just sit there with it in her lap and slide the large card in the player and Viola`. Youtube probably has a video on there on how to use it. But inside the Dora case is how you program it to your tv , and a paper instruction manual as well. If you win and have problems or any questions, you can ask me and I'll help you set it up. It is really simple...cause the manual has a whole list of name brand dvd players and when it ask you to enter the 4-digit code for your dvd player you just enter it.
