Rnd 1: 5 sc into second ch from hook
Rnd 2: Scinc in each sc around - 10 sts.
Rnd 3: *1 sc, 1 scinc; repeat from * - 15 sts.
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around
Rnd 5: *2 sc, 1 scinc; repeat from * - 20 sts.
Rnd 6: *3 sc, 1 scinc; repeat from * - 25 sts.
Rnd 7-8: Sc in each sc around
Rnd 9: *Sc 3, scdec 1; repeat from * - 20 sts.
Switch to 3.5 mm crochet hook. This last round will create the jagged egg shell edge. There will be a “peak” created in every other sc.
Rnd 10: *Sc 1, ch 3, sc 1 into same stitch as the previous sc, 1 sc in next sc; repeat from * - There will be 10 “peaks.”

Switch to 3.5 mm crochet hook. This last round will create the jagged egg shell edge. There will be a “peak” created in every other sc.
Rnd 5: *Sc 1, ch 3, sc 1 into same stitch as the previous sc, 1 sc in next sc; repeat from * - There will be 8 “peaks.” Because there are 15 stitches in the previous round there will be two peaks next to one another at the end.

Rnd 10: *1 sc, 2 scdec; repeat from * - 12 sts.
Rnd 11: *1 sc, 2 scinc; repeat from * - 20 sts.
Rnd 12-14: Sc in each sc around
Rnd 15: *2 sc, 1 sc dec; repeat from * - 15 sts.
Cut a small diamond out of orange felt for the beak and sew to head. Stuff most of the way.
Rnd 16: *1 sc, 1 scdec; repeat from * - 10 sts.
Finish stuffing
Rnd 17: Scdec in each sc around
Fasten off
Finishing
Attach eyes to chickie. Weave in all lose ends.
