I hope this helps someone learn about movie codes. There are differences in codes mostly as follows:
Ultraviolet Movie Code or UV code - can be redeemed at different sites and allows you to stream and/or download the movie.
Digital Movie Code - can be redeemed at various sites usually for iTunes or WMA and allows you to download the movie to your device.
Vudu or Site Specific Movie Code - Specific site codes only allow redemption at that site and have their own restrictions for viewing/downloading. Vudu usually allows both streaming/downloading but usually only for the account it is redeemed on. Meaning other account users will not have access to view or download unless they use your login. Flixster site specific codes will usually allow you to view them at other sites if uvvu linked.

Movie codes can only be redeemed ONCE. When the code has been entered into an account, it can not be used again. All codes have expiration dates for redeeming the code. This means you have until a certain date to redeem the code into an account.
Some codes also have limited time periods. This means you will only have the movie in your account for the specified limited time. When the time is up, the movie disappears.
