It looks like a brush, but it is not. remember when grandma would take a piece of straw and would use it to test the cake to see if it is done.

Well, this is the samething - it is a cake tester. You can hang it near your oven door.

it is not from a broom, but like the stuff a broom is made of (straw) but stiffer
