I have never done this before but my daughter uses these bows. You hold onto the strings in one hand and push the ribbon out with the other hand. It makes a big bow and you use the strings to wrap around your gift. The ribbon is about 1 and 3/8in wide. I opened the tape to show you the actual ribbon. Will re-tape for you.
