Maurice's size 1/2. Photos are both the front and back of the dress. Notice the black sash tied to the side around the neck piece. The dress is sleeveless.

The inside tag, sewn into the dress says a 1. Although the price tag, which is still attached, say a 1/2 (one-half). Your explanation seems right on!!

Confused about the sizeof dress. Would you please explain if a 1/2 equals to a size extra small, small, medium or larger please?

The inside tag, sewn onto the dress, states a size 1. The price ticket, still attached to the dress say 1/2, which I assume is one-half. Hope this helps!
