I put it on like... maybe.. twice. For a few minutes at a time. No sweat in it or anything. It was my backup plan for a pirate costume, but the commercial costume hat worked out better for me.
I too have a gargantuan skull, and it fit me just fine.
I'm pretty sure it's polyester. The texture feels like those quick dry shorts for the gym.
