You are buying print #447/500. This is a signed and numbered limited edition print by well known British artist Andrew J. Wheatcroft.

The detail in this print is incredible! When you get your print you can actually read the date on the calendar on the back wall, 1973, (original painting of this print was done in 1983!)

Original painting was painted in gouache, (a type of watercolor) on illustration board. The setting is James Herriot country in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, England.

The scene depicted is The Woodcarver. The gentleman is the artist's grandfather, carving a model boat or cobble, which is a small fishing boat used off the coast of Britain.

Actual image size is 10"x 15". There is a white border (not shown in scan) all around, 1 3/4" wide at the top and sides, 2" wide at the bottom. Bottom left bears the artist's signature in pencil on the white border. Artist's name is also printed at the bottom of the white border. Bottom right bears the printer's name and date, "Printed and Reproduced by Lautrec 1983 Ltd., Leeds England.

I do have consecutive numbers in this edition available, (#447-500). However you can see we are nearing the end, only 500 of these prints in the world! This print is owned in private collections in many countries including the USA, Canada, Great Britain, France and China. The artist is an accomplished illustrator of books, magazines, and museum work.

Print will be loosely rolled in tissue paper, and shipped in a Priority mailing tube. I have found this to be the best way to mail these prints.
