Description

The listing, Antique Spoon has ended.

As you see in the picture this spoon is from 1894. It is beautifully crafted. The name Josephine inscribed in the bowl. The story of being born with a silver spoon in your mouth is from those days. The wealthy gave a silver spoon as a baby gift when a baby was born into the family. It was a symbolic thing of having money. I can't make out the symbols on the back but next to them it does say sterling. They are initials and it looks like R II as in the second. There is something else too. It isn't worn away I just don't have a good magnifier. The spoon is 5 and a quarter inches long. I don't know why it looks gold in color cause it is silver and very pretty and clean and shiny. It is not worn anywhere . Excellent condition. I would like to offer free shipping but I really don't have the cash. Sorry.I decided to do a gin on this spoon. Free shipping with gin! It's probably high but i would just as soon let it auction out if I don't get it.

Very pretty spoon! If you decide to do a GIN, which I strongly suggest against, please do not take any less than 40,000. That is only 40.00 in cash value, & is still far below the actual value of this wonderful spoon! I hope this beautiful antique spoon does very well for you, even if that means it gets out of my range. Thank you for such a lovely listing. Blessings <><

Thank you for your help. I took your advice. I'm glad someone explained gin and the value of the credits.

Nice that you have an opinion but it wasn't asked for. But since you felt the need to share it. Just keep your eye on this auction and see what happens. Doesn't look like you have to much experience so maybe you will learn something.

Is there possible free shipping if bids go over a certain amount?

I really don't have the cash. I am a caregiver and it's family so I live free but I have 2 bills and I get paid $120.00 a week. I don't mind telling you this so you have a clear picture why I can't pay shipping. I wish I could offer perks like that but I really just don't have it.
