A sim card is used for your carrier. A sd card is for memory, like pictures and such.

Ok I am not being rude here but all I know is I had this phone for a fee months. I dropped it at mcdonalds and broke the screen. It still works and charges. & I am now giving the phone away so please if you are to concerned please just dont bid. Not being rude at all I'm just saying I'm giving this away I'm not going to disect every part of this.

You bought the phone in Nov 2013? If so it still has the Manufacturer warranty. Did you get an email when you purchased it showing date of purchase?
