I recommend double bagging with plastic (I often use freezer bags) around sensitive items like books and any other paper or cardboard items especially during the rainy season. The Poly mailer is an ideal way to protect your stuff.

This mailer sample pack will give you a good idea of what is available out there without having to order huge quantities only to find out you don't need some of them.
