Questions & Comments
You know besides this auction (which is freaking amazing.).. what I found for probably the first time ever??? When it comes to being real, fake, manmade, or natural..EVERYONE that had any input into this entire conversation was constructive, helpful, non accusatory, educating, and not one single snobby remark or "know it all" spoke a single word! I AM IMPRESSED with this auction and it's attendants!!!! WTG, Ladies!
I know what you mean everyone HAS been very informative in this auction with out any of the BS i have greatly appreciated everyones comments and input. I wish all auctions went as smoothly as the comments have gone on this one. JUST WANTS TO SAY THANKYOU EVERY ONE!!!
hi , i'm studying to be a gemologist , this is a natural topaz.... to create mystic topaz, clear topaz is coated by a very thin chemical layer, which enhances the stone and makes it appear rainbow-coloured. just for your own info , not all gemstones out there are lab created , natural stones are still around , the jeweler may have said a lot of natural stones are treated to enhance them but not all ......for the buyer of this stone you must be careful as the layer of color can be scratched , so keep it protected til you decide what to do with it ..i love just looking at my gemstones ......good luck with your auction , just because it is treated does not mean its not special ........if you need any help with gemstones although id'ing a stone from a picture is a no -no , i can try to help
Hi! This stone is absolutely stunning! Also, a quick shout-out to Virginia, Paulina, Robert & nicwinn for adding some info that is interesting! I do see that Bunny is bidding...lol...which means I don't stand a chance! You go, girlfriend!! I'll try to be some competition for you and all the other bidders who want this beauty as much as I do!! I have a friend who is a jeweler (great to know people, isn't it?!) and if I can beat all ya'll, including Bunny ;) he'll set it for me, a pendant perhaps, to almost match the gorgeous ring I won from Bunny. I need something to match my ring, or to come close anyway, and this beauty would do quite nicely! I'm already your fan, Melissa, so now watching & bidding, as well. Thanks for putting this up for auction, lovely to see even if I'm not the fortunate bidder. God bless, darlin', and best of luck on all your auctions! ~Poppy~
The Rainbow (Mystic) Topaz is not a naturally occurring topaz but refers to a natural topaz that has been treated by chemically bonding titanium to the topaz. To create the Mystic Topaz, a natural, colorless topaz is coated with a thin layer of titanium or similar metal. The coating is only microns thick and is applied to the stone’s pavilion, the underside angled portion that typically forms the bulk of the gem.
I was going to say a similar thing as the person above, all new stones will come with a tag or authentication paper stating if it was lab created or where it was mined from. I have a nice amatrine stone that was mined and not treated and it is stunning but I also have a lab created diamond ring that you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, makes you wonder what everyone is buying and selling out there these days. It's very beautiful :) Nikki
F&W&B.....This is lovely!! Is it a mystic topaz or a mystic quartz? It seems to colorful to be a topaz...The quartz are more impressive in their color and have a kaleidoscope effect...Either way, this stone is AWESOME!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE This piece would love to ouwn it as well. I have a gorgeous ring that needs a necklace that will match. This would do it. Bidding as long as I can am already a fan Please fan back, Thank you for a great auction.
When I find these amazing stones, I like to win them for my sister, who creates jewelry. I love surprising her with them. Watching and bidding, already a fan!
