HI mark here in st Louis I have the same box only with rainbow stripes on it ,,,ok this box is from the late to early 1800 to about 1929 or 30 it is a SNUFF BOX thesnuff was gone for whatever you wanted to use it for after the SNUFF was gone they are very collectable ,,I collect zippo,s and I keep flint,s in mine lol but they are very pretty

it is a pill box I have one and it was labeled pill box. I am on a lot of medication and you would be very surprised what some of it smells like from fruit to nasty to yes even certain types of makeup...lol... guess that's why I am so looney lol

I believe it's called "Confetti" that's on the top, they used to make metal confettit(like tinsel was once made of metal) , in the jewelry world there is a big demand for "Confetti" jewelry! It's very cute! possibly was used for a solid perfume , too (I'm sure some snuff boxes and pill boxes were reused , especially during World War II when metal was scarce!).Very nice and interesting auction! Already a fan and watching! Fan me back and stop in and say hi!! Good luck!

Mark882 hit it right on the nose with this one! These lovely little snuff boxes were made mainly in Italy for the Williams Tobacco company in the "Roaring Twenties" days. This one is in great shape. This particular design was called "Bits "N" Pieces" and you can clearly see why! Thank you for sharing this with all of us and I hope you do very well with the auction. Bid high everyone, You wont be disappointed!

well after really thinking about you no back long ago in the old days they probly made little boxes like that for just about anything its funny to sit around today and try to figure out what thing like that was used for back then who nose we are probly all rite to a degree ,,,,lol like I said I put flints in mine but its one my aunt had long ago when I was a kid and she kept snuff in and im 50 now,,,anyway you ladys have a great day mark in st louis
