A screwball specialist, Baldschun led the league in games pitched in his rookie campaign of 1961 and finished in the top 5 in saves each year from 1962-1964, all with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Phillies ultimately lost Jack in the Rule 5 Draft in 1965, but in 4 more MLB seasons he never recaptured the fire he had in his 5 seasons with the Phillies.
