Most of the world's Agates developed from Ancient Volcanic Lava.

They are Amazing Rock Formations that formed around gasses. Then over time the gasses leaked out through cracks that formed as it cooled & hardened leaving empty cavaties inside. Then the empty cavities filled with fluids rich in Silica & other mineral impurities that formed a gel-like consistency, that then over time hardened.

Colors,bands, and patterns varie based upon changes in pressure,temperature, & mineral content that occurred during the formation process. Unlike other gemstones, each Agate is Unique. Even slabs cut from the same specimen will varie in color and design.
