Description

The listing, 5 Buffalo Nickels in Cardboard Holders 1928 – 1930 – 1935 – 1935 – 1937 has ended.

Up for bid are 5 Buffalo Nickels in cardboard holders. They are in good condition and all dates are clear.

As far as I know these are not graded (and I'm not going to attempt to determine), but did come from the estate of a collector. The rest of his collection was sold, and then his children found a small lot that had been overlooked. So I am putting it on Listia for them and will give them the equivalent in dollars that the credits bring.

So you are getting them as found. I had to scan them and it's not as good as camera, but I hope you can get an idea of what is offered.

There will be a small lot of Indian Head Pennies and a Silver Quarter in separate auctions. If someone should win TWO OR MORE COIN auctions, there is a loose Buffalo Nickel (1936 with clear date) that will be added.

****This auction is just for the Buffalo Nickels shown.

Beautiful clean coins....Did you clean them? Any coin that has been graded by a firm considered to be a "legitimate" grading firm as "recognized & "respected" by American Numismatic authorities are encapsulated in a sealed slab with a holographic UV watermarking to aid in assuring authentication and preventing counterfeit grading. Coins in cardboard coin flips have not be officially graded by a legitimately recognized grading organization. Private individuals grade coins using their own interpretation of standards they read in publications such as the Whitman Official Red Book. However, just as I personally grade my coins based on those standards, my interpretation of a coins grade or that of any private individual, is not considered an official grade.

No, as I said in the description, they are just as found by the family. I said clean, because they look "clean" to me. I do not know a lot about coins, and am doing this for the family of the collector who passed. The dates are clearly readable and they are not "dirty" coins. That's the extent of it. Nothing official.
