This is a 2012 Topps Chrome Refractor for second baseman BRANDON PHILLIPS of the Cincinnati Reds.

No one expected much of Brandon. Initially drafted by the Expos in 1999, he was shipped to Cleveland in 2002 with Cliff Lee and Grady Sizemore for Bartolo Colon. After 4 seasons and only about 450 at bats with the Indians, Brandon was shipped to the Cincinnati Reds ... for the dreaded player to be named later.
In the NL, Brandon excelled. In his first 8 seasons with the Reds, he averaged 20 home runs per season, and collected 4 Gold Gloves and a Silver Slugger. A 3-time All Star, Brandon has become the National League's premier second baseman, combining flash and skill in the field with consistent hitting at the plate. In 2013 he collected his 3rd season of 90+ RBI, and his first of over 100. This guy is not done by a longshot ... not bad for a guy acquired for a PTBNL.
