Description

The listing, **RARE and EXTINCT IN THE WILD** Be the ENVY of the neighborhood!! The Banana Lotus :) has ended.

This Auction is for 5 very rare seeds. (Please see below for GIN extras). These are the most beautiful and amazing plant in the world (my opinion of course). They are SO rare and hard to find. I personally am the only person I know who has ever owned one.

The cost of these seeds have jumped in the past few months. This is due to the lack of mother plants in China. They are almost gone. You can only find them in the Yunnan Province in China. The person I usually get my seeds from said they have only received half of what they got last month due to supply. SO.. I do not know how long I will have them. They are currently about $2 a seed including shipping. That is enough in itself for a seed.

TO MY LOYAL GIN CUSTOMERS:
You will also receive 25 Rose of Sharon, 5 large pumpkin, 5 acorn squash and some surprise vine seeds. AND a Surprise gift :) Hint: The Surprise gift is a small perfume and lotion set. I might throw in a DVD or who knows lol. Depends on the day ect. One thing I promise is I ALWAYS make up a very nice package with EXTRA seeds for my GIN customers. PLease see feedback.
ALSO, I have cold stored 15 seeds in a plastic baggie. They will come already ready to go and already in their soil. They will be ready 12/28/13. So they are all set. I highly suggest still storing them for a week or so in your own fridge. This helps so much with FAST growth. This will up my shipping cost quit a bit, however you are paying a pretty penny and deserve it :)

When you receive them:

Place in a pot with seeding soil.

Keep them moist and warm.

When they sprout they will need light and warmth. They do need some shade at about 6 months old.

I have a question. For the individual who wins this amazing plant would it be possible for you to include some directions or at least a resource to help grow this plant?

Winter hardy to USDA Zones 7-10 where it can be grown outside year round. A thick winter mulch over the root area is recommended near the northern edge of its growing range. Some experts claim this plant will survive many Zone 6 winters outside if well protected. It is best grown in organically rich, medium moisture, well-drained soil in full sun. Plants tolerate and often appreciate some part shade or light filtered sun in the heat of the day. Best growth occurs with consistently moist soils that do not dry out. Fertilize plants regularly during the growing season. Site in protected locations to protect leaves from wind damage. For areas north of USDA Zone 7, plants are best grown in containers using a well-drained potting soil mix. Soils should be kept consistently moist but not wet. Bring containers indoors in fall before first frost for overwintering in conservatories or greenhouses. Containers may also be overwintered in a sunny room with reduced soil moisture. Another option is to trim off all leaves in fall and bring containers into a cool frost-free corner of a basement, providing just an occasional touch of moisture in winter to prevent the soils from totally drying out. Detach suckers for developing new plants.
