I have an 18" gold rope chain for women. This is a beauty! Looking at this sideways almost looks like the letter Z all the way down. The pull-back clasp works great. I don't know what carat the gold id, probobly 24 as it doesn't bang up. I also have no idea what it weighs but I do know this-you won't be dissapointed. IS there stamping? what's the carat? Have you taken it into a pawn shop or jeweler? They can test it for free and tell you.

Hmmm, no response ...I have a gold rope chain from the 80s that looks for all the world like real gold. My guess is that this is the same vintage, lots of those around at the time.

The gold "id" most definitely NOT 24 because 24K gold DOES "bang up." The 24K gold is SOLID gold 100%--which is quite soft. The gold things made of lesser K has other harder metals mixed in so they don't "bang up."
