if you close the laptop there is a tag that reads as follows:

DELL
latitude
CPX

it will be on the top of the lid.

These are 256 MB each (x2=512MB) of 100MHZ ram (PC100 SO-DIMM) 144-pin SDRAM. This probably came from a win '98 era Laptop, or very early XP.
