Torch ginger lily, red torch ginger, wild ginger and combrang are all common names for Nicolaia elatior. This tropical plant is a member of the Zingerberaceae family of plants. The canes on this herbaceous perennial can grow up to 17 feet tall. In addition to red blossoms, torch gingers also bloom in shades of pink and white.
