The coin comes from his former home "Willcox, AZ"were every 1st weekend in October they celeebrate "Rex Allen Days". The event was originally put on by Rex Allen himself in hopes of raising the money for a hospital. Event includes musical performances, venders, dances, carnival, rodeo, parade, turtle races, gun fights, tractor pulls, and so much more. Rex Allen returned every year to support the event. After his death the legacy has been carried on by his son, Rex Allen, Jr.

This coin was put out by the Rex Allen Days Rodeo Association in 1971 for the 20th annual Rex Allen Days. For a short pediod these coins were honored by the town's businesses and even the bank as $1.00us.
