This works pretty well (NOTHING really makes getting those stinkin' plastic packages easy to open, but this helps). I bought several and realize I don't need this extra one. Smoke and pet free home.

Hopefully, the day will come when they don't put things in those awful plastic packages so we won't need one of these!

I get so frustrated with the plastic packaging. I **REFUSE** to risk using a box cutter, but nothing else does the job.

I too have a cut from opeing a package from a Listiia acution I won. I appreciate how well it was wrapped but it was hard to open. I have never seen one of these tools. Would it open that type of package?

Hmmmm... I don't know. It's made specifically for those big heavy plastic packages -- the ones that are impossible to get into. It has a "slit knife" on the edge to made an opening, then you slide the protected blade around the package and it (usually) opens fairly easier. I don't know if it'll work on packages that are just taped a lot.
