Brand new thermo with a huge readout and nice pivoting head. Has a tapered tip for easier insertion.
These run about $15 in stores, but save money and time and get it here, after all, you're already doing enough running around in December anyway!

Why yes. Or no. Honestly, it doesn't say and I have never used one of these for candy.
Hopefully we can get someone to chime in.

Does it say what temps. it reads out ie. from??to ???

What you see it the same thing I'm looking at- doesn't list a low, but goes to at least 450. I've used several of these types for checking temps in freezers, but as this one is sealed, I cannot verify.

This looks like a meat thermometer. Candy thermometers are generally made of glass and have a clip attached so that you can hook it on to the pan and keep it there as the candy cooks. I could be wrong as they are always coming up with new things.
