Description

The listing, Coke Cap Code ~ And ~ The RED Shower Swap (February)! ~ Signup Information. has ended.

Per Listia Rules, you are bidding on a COKE CAP CODE, for use with MCR / My Coke Rewards.

This is also signups and discussion for...
The RED Shower Swap (the whole month of February Swap!)
Brought to you by: Ribbitribbit26 & tweety23456 & our helper, manganime92! (Tara, JJ, & Nikki)

Please read ALL rules before signing up! This option is for those interested in a MONTH LONG SWAP - You may only sign up ONE or TWO folks for this, to keep with the theme of SHOWERING your matches all month long!

We WILL have wishlists for this swap. It'll be split in half, and you're expected to send (and also get!) *at least* TWO ITEMS per half (so 4 total). The idea, again this month, is to do a lotta Listia Shopping!! Get started whenever, and remember time for shipping. You CAN send out items (or even boxes) on your own!

THE IDEA of a "Shower Swap" is to SHOWER your person with gifts throughout the month (who doesn't like getting mail, right?). We collaborated and thought perhaps 4 nice items with a showering of smaller ones is a good place to start - OR do your own thang ;-) Just remember minimum requirements, please.

We WILL offer prizes to people who outdo themselves on sending - good deeds get rewarded!

THE TWIST for February is that for the month, you've gotta...
SEND AT LEAST 2 ITEMS THAT INVOLVE RED! Red things, things with the word "Red" in their name. Be fun, funny, creative, or practical! Try and space them - to have 1 arrive for each half of the swap if you can. THANK YOU ANNETTE (miss fosterj) for the neat twist idea!

DATES:
**Signups from 01/23 - 01/31
**First large item must be received or accounted for by 02/12
**Second large item must be received by 02/26

(Checkins on 02/05 - 02/12 - 02/19 - 02/26)

SIGNUP FORM IS LOCATED ON THE FIRST COMMENT! Get it back to me or JJ asap to lock in your spot(s)!

There are also other swaps this month, check out ribbitribbit 26's listings for more details.

I got to crafting last night and today as well.
I cut the bottom off a ketsup bottle, decopaged it in red tissue paper
and added some lace trim.I cut a 2 litter coke bottle bottom off and decopaged some really pretty fabric to it and added some lace to it.
The coke bottle I'm going to use for my pencils/pens.
The ketsup bottle is used for my vanity drawer which is really shallow.
It's the perfect size for lipsticks.

I seen some Monster Trucks as they are on Joey's list as his favorite charcaters are: Monster mutt (as he loves dogs) Gravedigger & Pickachu from Pokemon. His favorite color is: blue. His 5th birthday is Feb 21st.

And Jazelle is easy as she likes girly items and I have seen lots of Barbies, Care Bears, Mermaids, Tinkerbell, Disney Princess e.t.c, Great red items for her can be Strawberry Shortcake, any doll wearing red, Valentimnes dolls, She also likes pink, hearts, blue, purple, Can even get size 5 for next year. Her favorite is Dora, Deigo & Kilan Her favorite shows is: Disney & Nick Jr

But I know I listed ALOT of items that they are into, so I hope you have fun shopping for them. I will take pictures of Joey as his items are going to be put aside for his 5th birthday.

I can't wait until Feb 5th to go SHOPPING!!

OH, I forgot to add if anyone wants to get gift cards for the kids. The stores we go to are: Wal-Mart, K-Mart, BJ's and sometimes Target. We also go to Mc Donalds and Burger King. There is a new Mc Donalds being biuld at the Trenton train Station 6 blocks away so this would be easily acessed and great for the birthday boy, but we stil like going to the ones with playplaces so the kids can be worn out. We don't go out much & when we do go out we like to spend a long time out and have a great time and what more of a great time then being inside & letting the kids in the playplace :) LOL

tweety- you have to clean the eggshells first, I can't remember for sure, but I think you soak them in a mix of water and a little bleach.
Let them dry then glue on. I looks kinda like a mosaic when its finished.
You can paint the eggshells or leave as is.
I painted my box first then left them white.
Easter would be a perfect time to try using the colored egg shells.
I would not soak them in the bleach mixture though.

@fosterj, Jared is 10 years old, I had him when I was 16 1/2, So I am actually almost the same age as our brother, I am 27 and already with 4 kids, LOL

That is why I let Tara & J.J. know that next month would be Jared's super favorite holiday. I mean I like green to, but not as much as Jared. Jared is in the picture with the red hair and blue eyes. Green looks good on us as we are Irish and can't wait until March comes so we can have cornbeef and cabbage as that is the ONLY time we have it because my 4 & 3 year old WON'T eat as they don't like it and hubby dosen' care for it eaither, but eats it once a year with us. My hubby is not Irish, LOL

I painted the paper boxes you get at craft stores.
Then covered it with broken eggshells.
I use it to keep my small sewing supplies.
I finished a small box this morning.
I painted it red, put little lace trim around the box lid.
I cut a piece of bubble wrap glued it to the top then painted a little rose pink and glued it to the top. It is so cute.
I have also deco-paged clear glass canisters with Christmas wrapping paper.
I just cut out the pieces I wanted and used those.
I kept it in my kitchen for years.
I seen a santa claus made out of a milk jug one time.
But I never figured out how to make it.

When my kids were little, I used to use the baby food jars and make raindeers and Santas with felt. Or I would decopage them with tissue paper that made them look like stained glass. They made the cutest candy gift containers.

Yesterday I started gathering up all the boxes we had around the house that were almost empty or ready to go out to the trash (trash day is tomorrow and no I did not go digging in the trash, lol). So now I have about 10 boxes (cereal, kleenex etc) to start my drawer organization project. :)
I will keep you updated on that. I have 12 drawers in my kitchen alone, LOL. :)
I am so excited to get started. I am going to cut the boxes after my kids are done with breakfast.
@englishbln what did you do to keep the eggshells on the box? Did you paint them too? That sounds very interesting.

@ tweety~ my hubby is a realtor & we often prep houses for market & we painted a foreclosure home about 2 yrs. ago & I chose a very light lilac / lavendar color for the upstairs bathroom & I LOVED how it turned out!! I accented it with silver tho. We installed new silver colored bathroom light fixtures & towel bars. And I found a large mirror at, I think it was at a dollar general actually, for only $25 ! It had a filigree design frame around it but it was black, YUK for this bathroom!! So I took an old tshirt & rubbed on some silver colored paint. The black still showed thru in the crevices of the filigree but it looked really GOOD... it looked old~ like a very neat "antique" silver. We hung it over the sink & it became the centerpiece of the bathroom.
I LOVED that lilac bathroom!!! <3 ... ~ Annette

You can take an egg shell and mash it down, instead of breaking it up separately.
You could take the larger pieces and paint them first.
Break them up then use different colors on your project.
It is easier to glue your project first then add the shells.
I've never tried that one but I bet it would look really cool.

I am also waiting on an air brush to arrive. i thought it might be cool to put the white egg shells down, kind of as a lumpy canvas and then detail with the airbrush on top.

I just listed red boxing gloves for a toddler and make your own jewlery heart kit for the red swap. I also didn't know that we were aloud to add or get gift cards for swaps. Everytime I recive my matches, I find some good stuff either on Listia, at my home or on ebay for cheap :) I am actually done with my Valentimes swap and ready for more :)

@ fosterj M sone age 10 years old, loves green to. Everything in his room has to be green. Neon green, hunter green anything really, LOL. Everytime I get something for him that is not green, he says to bad it wasen't in green or did they have a green one? Sometimes I say Jared not everything can be in green, LOL. Can't wait until the March sign ups are up and Jared can stop asking me when is he going to get something in the mail that is green. LOL :)

You can get gift cards for your swap. But those should not necessarily be your main and only gift. But some people can really use gift cards too. I collect amazon.com gift codes. I try to get them as cheap as possible on lisita, then I can save up and if I cant get something I need on listia I go to amazon for it. :)

.... Does anyone know what vintage 50's or 60's TEMPORAMA dinnerware is??

I have started to collect this very cool dinnerware about 2 years ago, as it has an AWESOME design & it looks FAB & beachy with my diningroom table & chairs!! I just LOVE it!! I pick it up very cheap at my local thrift stores & sometimes yard sales as well. This stuff is VERY heavy duty & made VERY well!! It's STILL around after all these years & STILL looks WONDERFUL!!! ... If anyone is interested in seeing it, PM me & I can email you my pics of it.

Anyhoo, last Summer we visited one of my fav stores in Cape May, NJ called WONDERLUST & they had an aqua table & white chairs for sale (opposite of what mine are but STILL!) with a price tag of over $1,000.00 !!! I was SO very proud of myself that day LOL:)

.... Does anyone else like relaxed beach cottage decor??

Or projects that you have done & would like to share??

@ tweety~ your kitchen is green & purple... what shade of green?? My Mom loves green also & her kitch has the Corelle Calloway Ivy theme with accents of green.

She has green dish towels & dish cloths, green pot holders, Martha Stewart green food storage containers, green salt & pepper shakers, green rug at her sink, ect. LOL : )

Our entire house tho has a relaxed beach cottage feel with shades of blue, aqua, white, sandy tan, ect. I am trying to add in some other splashes of color here & there LOL:) but it isn't easy bc I am always second-guessing if it looks right! : D

I LOVE crafting also but I just have not had much time to do much of it these past few years. ...... I think the last thing I did was sand down & paint an awesome diningroom table we found & bought at our local thrift store for under $100. (It was a dark wood color.) ...Well, I sanded & Jim painted it with his electric spray gun for me. ... Then a month or so later, we found really great well-built chairs all 4 for only $25.00!! (again, they were dark wood) for the table at a yard sale in a well-to-do neighborhhod LOL:) & vintage dark wood & I don't get along real well! : P ... So I sanded those as well & I bought aqua spray paint at Lowe's & spray painted them aqua (you can see them in some of my auction pics : ) I LOVE how they turned out & how the table & chairs look together! : D

I was afraid at first to do them aqua (my fav color) but my Mom said it might look to matchy-matchy if the chairs were white too, so I went against my fear & did them aqua & now I LOVE them & can't imagine them being white! LOL:) ... I lightly sanded the table & the chairs to give them a gentle beach cottage "worn" look. And to protect the paint finish on both the table & the chairs, we sprayed everything with a clear coat spray paint.
...... continued below bc all my blab won't fit here!! LOL:) ......

My walls are a mint green with deep purple, leaf green and hunter green accents (towels, containters, etc.). My bathroom off the kitchen area is lavender with deep purple, mint green and leaf green accents.
i like the calming feeling of the colors, but instead of a beachy theme, I am more of a nature feel (maybe more of a meadow, or mountain feel).
I just won an air brush on listia and when it gets here I am planning adding some accent decoration.

@ tweety~ Let us know how your drawer organizer project goes for you once you are feeling better??! ...Also forgot to mention that I also have longer boxes in my kitchen drawer that I keep 1) my rubber spatulas in & 2) my wooden spoons in ...that I made from cutting the tall ends or sides off of a large Cheerios box. You can get 2 out of one cereal box.
I also have two of them in my desk drawer~ one holds my pens & pencils & one holds my markers. And of course, I had to cover them with my pretty aqua duck tape : D

I'd LOVE to hear how anyone else repurposes things in a COOL way, saved from being trash????
I am working on a few ideas & projects now, if anyone wants to share ideas & projects?? <3 ... ~ Annette

Share away girl!!
I love crafty ideas. Especially ones that I can use around the house. I am thinking of making these organizers for my sister as well, what a great gift they will make. And I found out our dollar tree sells the duck tape in the various colors and styles. I can't wait until I can get out of the house to decide what to use. My kitchen colors are green and purple, so I figure a variation of the two would be nice.

There was a website called Freecycle. I don't know if it covers all of the US but it is based on Yahoo. It is one group that covers several cities from each county. You can give away things that would end up in the landfill or things that don't sell in garage sales. You can also receive REALLY NICE THINGS for free! I have gotten a lot of Similac formula. I have seen NICE TVs, Furniture, computers, appliances, clothes given away for free! My husband received nice tools too! Check it out. You just have to be pretty quick to respond to the emails and go pick the items up, usually left on the doorsteps.

@ englishbln~ did you receive my 2nd email about WHAT TO DO WITH EMPTY PRESCRIPTION BOTTLES ???

If anyone else is interested, here are a few ideas... 1) Picture hangers: Hooks, nails, sawtooth hangers & picture wire fit snugly inside the bottle. 2) Ear buds: Keep your ear buds clean & tangle free by slipping them inside a prescription bottle for handy organizing. 3) Eyeshadow applicator: Once you open a new package of makeup applicators you can keep them sanitary by storing them in a bottle. 4) Glitter shaker: Stop wasting glitter. Simply shake out the amount you need by crafting your own glitter shaker by punching small holes in the bottle lid with either a small nail or a corn cob holder. 5) Safety Pins & Straight Pins: Store safety pins in your desk drawer for those fashion emergencies. Or straight pins for sewing. 6) Band aids: Keep a few band aids in your handbag or the glove box of your car just in case.7) Bobby pins: Forget digging through the vanity drawer trying to locate a single bobby pin instead store them in a bottle & you'll always be able to find one. 8) Parts & pieces: After assembling an item such as a desk chair, store the screws & allen wrench inside. After taking something apart such as a bookcase store the nuts & screws in a bottle & tape it to the item so you can put it back together again. 9) Craft beads: Sort & store beads by shape & color. Glue a bead to the lid making it simple to identify what's inside. 10) Flower Seeds or Vegetable Seeds: labeling each 11) Toothpicks: once you open a box of toothpicks, store them in a pill bottle where they're easy to find in the pantry. 12) They are also good to put q-itps & cotton balls into for home or travel.

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE ANY IDEAS TO RECYCLE & REUSE THINGS instead of throwing them away into our landfills?? ... If so, PLEASE SHARE YOUR IDEAS!! I'd LOVE to hear them!!! <3 ... ~ Annette
