The listing, Seabiscuit: An American Legend has ended.
For anyone that has any interest at all in thoroughbred horses and/or racing, this is a wonderful book. Seabiscuit was a true rock star, garnering more media attention that even FDR did. People took trains from all over the country to see him race. He was a homely little nondescript horse that just would not quit when he was racing. The stories of his owner, trainer, and jockey(ies) are also very interesting. They were not famous wealthy well-known people. The information given on jockeys and their lives at the time was amazing. Their attempts to keep their weight in check were awful, their injuries horrific, and their lack of medical care/insurance debilitating. The author did a tremendous amount of research and made it very enjoyable to read.
