Mexican Bird of Paradise Seeds

Up for bid are 6 seeds of the Mexican Bird of Paradise Bush (Caesalpinia gilliesii). This is not the bird of paradise flower that is popular as a cut flower. This is a beautiful shrub that is very exotic with its bright yellow flowers with red filaments and feathery mimosa type foliage.

Soil should be kept moist during establishment. Later prefers infrequent, deep waterings. Little pruning is required. Spring fertilization is recommended. Full sun produces best growth and flowering results. Very attractive to hummingbirds.

They are hardy to at least USDA zone 6b, and possibly colder. These plants would make excellent additions to your rare plant collection, or just make a unique statement in your yard.

Warning, like the popular oleander, all parts of this plant are poisonous so keep away from small children.

I did the same... nothing like a road trip with your ma swinging to reach someone in the back seat due to an annoying song.. we got lots of laughs from that one.. There's a gal on youber tuber that mentions that song.. I love her videos.. her name is lemonette. Little Jimmy Dickens sang that song..

Too funny. You have a good collection of vids Sageblossom. I like dancing ron. So funny. I totally enjoyed 'The 4 Hour Work Week' I read it while sitting at my doctor's office. The chapter regarding 'Outsourcing Life' was good. I can only imagine what a person can learn by working for Jack Welch. He's a smart man.
