These are HP black and tri-color cartridges. Bought them for a printer that I no longer have. One has a date of Sept. 2010, not sure about the code on the other. Think that these are expiration dates, but these have never been opened, still in tight foil packaging. From everything I read, they should work fine. Free US shipping. Am listing another set still in cardboard and foil packaging as well in another auction.Yahoo.Answers says

As long as they are sealed in undamaged foil wrappers and stored in decent conditions, yes, the cartridges should work fine.
