Yeah, it's a pretty cool device. And only the size of a quarter (much, much smaller than a wi-fi dongle). They work great - you can we even use your bluetooth earpiece to do google talk, skype, etc. Endless possibilities.

Happy bidding!

This might be a stupid question, but I have never seen one of these before. If I plug this device into my laptop, and connect to my bluetooth, would it act like wireless earphones? Would I be able to hear my laptop?

great question. yeah, this supports voice (i.e., connect bluetooth headset to computer, for skype calls).

unless you meant using it for music?

Thats kinda what I meant. I have a small laptop, and the sound on it is awful, unless I use external speakers, or headphones. I was wondering if I could use this in place of speakers or headphones. Does that make sense? Plug this dongle into the laptop, connect bluetooth and receive sound from computer.

@backyardtarpon I'm unclear what you are asking. This auction is for a USB Bluetooth device. It gives Bluetooth capabilities to your computer. If you have wireless speakers, then this device will allow your computer to connect to your wireless speakers. You can also use it to connect your computer to an MP3 player.

@backyardtarpon If you are asking whether this device emits sound like a speaker or a headphone, then the answer is "no".

read below (@chferg) - seems like the answer is yes if you use the right program.

@backyardtarpon If you have a bluetooth headset (earwig) that you use with your phone, this will allow you to transmit sound wirelessly from laptop to earwig. The microphone will also transmit wirelessly to the laptop in case you want to record your voice. Just use a program like Audacity. Sorry if that is TMI.

that's great! i'll add ... you can probably find this (and similar) free programs at zdnet.com

Yes, Audacity is an excellent program. However, the device itself still doesn't emit any sound. You need the device to connect a computer/laptop to another device that has sound capabilities.

I have one similar, and they are great :), they really don't cost a lot, several places sell em for under 10.00 if that helps those that don't win or have enough credits to win :)..
