The listing, Fosslized Sharks Tooth has ended.
My uncle worked on the roads in Georgia and he came home with this one day back in 1970. What he told me was that it came from about 100 feet down in the earth and that he believed that one of the early American Indian Tribes had made the hole in it to wear of a TOTEM, or jewelry who knows. I still believe him to this day. So, if anyone knows more than I do PLEASE TELL ME. Enjoy bidding its time to find a new home.
My husband says that the tooth comes from a mako or great white shark. He is Cherokee Indian so he would know. Plus he has studied sharks his whole life. He wants this very bad for his heritage but does not have the credits to get it. Hope this helps.
I have a lot of Cherokee Indian in me as well. Does he think that it was Cherokee Indians from long ago that hand made the hole in this? I've always been curious about it so I really appreciate what you said. Thank you.
Fanned you back. I had seen a yellow sharks tooth on here and I thought, "well, I have one better than that." I just always kept it in my jewelry box so it would not get broken. I really didn't know the proper way to care for it so I never washed it or really let it see the light of day. Uv rays can hurt some items.
