1 CURRY TREE SEED

Curry Tree- It is a small tree, growing 4–6 m (13–20 feet) tall, with a trunk up to 40 cm diameter. The leaves are pinnate, with 11-21 leaflets, each leaflet 2–4 cm long and 1–2 cm broad. They are highly aromatic. The flowers are small, white, and fragrant. The small black shiny berries are edible, but their seeds are poisonous.

Seeds must be ripe and fresh to plant; dried or shriveled fruits are not viable. One can plant the whole fruit, but it's best to remove the pulp before planting in potting mix that is kept moist but not wet.

One seed is available. These seeds collected are from a curry plant that I grew from a small curry tree plant 12 years ago. It has given my Indian girlfriend fresh curry leaves all year around. The plant is 5'7" tall with five bunches of curry leaves. Out in Spring and in winter inside of kitchen.

How to grow a curry tree plant from seed.

Sow seeds of the curry leaf plant indoors during February or March. Fill a seed-starter tray with sterile potting soil and plant one seed in each cell at a depth of 1/2 inch. Moisten the soil with a light misting of water from a spray bottle and set the tray in a warm location (at least 68 degrees Fahrenheit) that receives bright, indirect sunlight.
