VICTOR SILVER CO. MIRROR & BRUSH SET PATENTED MAY 14, 1907
Absolutely Vintage. This is gorgeous! Silver plated with great patina. Shows signs of typical wear for an item of it's age. The bristles for the most part are in tact and undamaged(see photos). The mirror DOES HAVE FLAWS, some marks and scratches as would be expected on an item of this age Some scratches and the Makers Mark and patent are worn quite a bit but still readable. If necessary I could try to get a good picture of the engraving on the side of the handle for authentication but I assure you this is exactly as described. I am offering a 7 day No Questions Asked return policy on this auction just to give you a little more assurance of it's authenticity. Silver plate is wearing a bit in some areas and honestly I feel it adds to the charm and beauty of this 100+ year old vanity set. I would say if any guy gave this unique item to their special someone they are going to surprise the heck out of her and will definitely get some points for creativity :)
The brush is 9 inches & the mirror is 10 inches, not huge but definitely has a bit of weight. Hope you like it and please, please bid high on this one, if I wind up just giving it away I may just cry.
If anybody has any questions at all(no such thing as a dumb question) by all means please ask before you bid. Although I am offering a 7 day no questions asked return policy on it, I really don't want anybody unhappy with their item or want to go through the hassle of a return.
Hate charging shipping but need to add delivery confirmation and put it in a box so it will be $4.99 which honestly will only cover part of the cost.
Winning bidder please contact me asap at end of auction so I can ship it out to you quick.

As always, please check out my other great auctions(coins, stamps, currency, jewelry and collectibles)

Thanks for looking :)

If you need it by Christmas let me know. I will go on the honor system for the shipping if your mailing a money order(I prefer PayPal though). For an additional charge(I will have to find out how much at the post office or UPS) I will even have it overnighted. If it is going overnight I will definitely need PayPal payment only and prior to shipping. Otherwise I will trust the lucky winner for the shipping charge.

Hello! Has the set ever been cleaned with anything? I was wondering if it might would damage it to be cleaned. This is a very stunning set and would love to have it for my collection, if credits forbid. To me it looks to be tarnished and would probably clean up to be just absolutley breath taking, but often worry about trying to clean up my really old collectiable afraid of ruining them! I have a feeling you will do really well with this set!!

I make it a rule not to clean any silver or gold items I acquire simply because I never know what the future owner prefers. With coins it's just a no-no always but with items like this all collectors have their preferred method or product they like to use to clean or polish collectibles and or jewelry. I personally love the look of the patina and tarnishing as it really gives it an intriguing vintage appearance. For me collecting items like this takes me on a journey, wondering who may have owned it what historical events it has survived. This item lived through 2 world wars, the great depression, the fifty's sixty's seventy's and so on all the way to Listia:) Really is an amazing story if you think about it. Hope you win. I won't be doing any cleaning or polishing to this... what you see is what you get. I'll leave it to it's next owner to decide how it should look. I will say definitely do your research and homework on cleaning or consult a professional before touching it with anything.
Good Luck All,
T

sorry but I just can't on this one. It's just too heavy and to be completely honest what I'm charging isn't even going to cover my cost for shipping and materials I will have to use to get it to you undamaged and safe. I don't think the shipping charge I'm asking is unreasonable for what your getting. This set is over a hundred years old and silver plated not to mention it's condition and how unique and beautiful it is. Doesn't look like I'm going to do to well as far as bids go on this one anyway. I'm already taking a huge hit on it,.
Sorry,
T

Sorry folks, but the only way I can do this item without a shipping charge is to do a pick-up. I am in Connecticut, if you want I can meet you somewhere in CT and give it to you. It's starting to look like I'm going to get beat up pretty good on this auction as far as bids go so I really need to get something to cover my cost to ship.

I will accept a postal money order. It's free to open a paypal account and a very safe convenient way to do business if your planning on doing a lot of buying and selling on auction sites. Sending cash USPS just opens way to many opportunities for problems so the only other option other than paypal I will accept would be a postal money order. Sorry for the hassle.
Thanks for looking and Happy Holidays :)

Thanks sooo much. I very much appreciate it. I will bid on your items, heres the thing since I'm new here they don't credit my credits instantly and literaly I only have 150 credits to do anything with until the other winning bidders give me feedback on my previous auctions :) Kind of a bummer for me but makes perfect sence and it really is to protect all of us. Please don't feel guilty seeing me give these items away. They have much more value to the girl that wanted one since she was a child or the guy that wants to give his mom the best Christmas present ever than they ever could to me. :) I will get credits for these items and use them on something of value to me. It's a great system that works for all of us just so long as everybody is honest and straight forward with their auctions.
Peace All and be safe,
Tony
