Synopsis
With wit, heart, and humor, this thriller marks the fiction debut of screenwriter Marshall Karp, and introduces LAPD Detective Mike Lomax, a tough but essentially soft-hearted man still recovering from his wife's death from cancer six months ago. Convicted pedophile Eddie Elkins is overjoyed when bribery and a carefully faked resume gets him his dream job: wearing the costume of Rambunctious Rabbit, the chief mascot at Disney's competitor, Lamaar's Familyland. The dream rapidly turns to nightmare when someone sneaks up behind Eddie and strangles him. Did the murderer have a personal grudge against Eddie, or is the murder merely the first blow in a campaign to destroy the Lamaar media empire? Detective Lomax and his partner, Terry Biggs, attempt to find out before the next body turns up.
