As with everything in life, when it comes to your kids or grandkids, ANY child, you should use personal discernment, common sense, and wisdom. Things in this world may say non-toxic, but to what degree? And what does safe mean? (philosophically speaking) Even natural God-given things can be toxic and unsafe when used unconventionally or in volume. While as an individual adult, I may be a guinea pig and try something, in many cases you want to be more aware and alert when it comes to making a decision or choice concerning another human being. Some kids have a tendency to lick their lips more often than adults. I would definitely take that into consideration. If thinking of a child using this, I would assuredly look into the non-traditional crayons such as beeswax or you could even take it a step further and make your own natural crayons, first. :) And then, make the lipsticks. I can't advise you~you must make your own choice (just about everything we do in life has risks). But I can tell you this~my grandaughter is due in October. When she gets to the age of wanting to play with lipsticks and nail polishes and the like, together we will be making our own natural diy cosmetics as far away from chemicals as we can get. There are probably lots and lots of recipes available and maybe if I get the time to research, I'll come up with and post diy lipsticks for kids> :) God Bless and thank you for such a wonderfully thought out question. :)
Thank you.I was wondering because my daughter likes playing dress up and if it was safe I was going to make some for her to put on.The only thing she puts on now is chapstick..lol.That is only when she needs it,not very often.Thank you for your thoughtful answer.. I try to stay completly away from any chemicals.I don't like chemicals in my house.I have seen what it does to children and animals..
