what does TCMA stand for for examples: TCGC is Topps Chewing Gum Company. I have never seen these b4 and I been collecting long time. Is from a cereal box or from a loaf of bread?

TCMA stands for Tom Collier and Michael Aronstein. It’s an anagram for the company’s two owners. There cards were produced by the SSPC (Sport Stars Publishing Company) They produced small sets of minor league players and vintage stars from 1972 to 1987. They produced a full set of major league players in 1976 and were sued by TOPPS who obtained an injunction prohibiting TCMA to do current players. At that time, TOPPS had a monopoly on card production until FLEER sued them in Federal court and won, breaking TOPPS' monopoly.
