Description

The listing, Powershot 12.1 MP SD780 IS Digital ELPH Camera as is has ended.

Powershot 12.1 MP SD780 IS Digital ELPH Camera! I won this camera on a Listia Rewards auction and used well over 35,000 bids to get it! Unfortunately I dropped it and jammed the lens in open position and now it won't work. I sent it to Canon Customer Service and they said they would repair it for $90 (which is a drop in the bucket of what this camera is worth), however I just don’t have the $90 for that right now. If you know how to repair cameras it’s entirely possible that you can repair it for absolutely nothing. I have a feeling it’s just a problem that can be adjusted inside the camera if you open it but I don’t want to try it for fear I might make something worse. Here is the original link that Listia used for the camera when I won it as it will give you more info.

Actually, Canon is one of the best (not the best) cause Kodak is right up there with Canon. Kodak takes very sharp, bright, and colorful pics.

Thanks :)

There are a lot of great cameras out there and I'm sure there is one that can be called "the best" because each one has their own pros and cons.

Does it come with the usb cable, charger, etc?

Sorry I didnt realize I left all that info off the description. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. It comes with the battery, battery charger, manual and solutions disk in original box with original Amazon receipt from Listia. If it goes over 10,000 bids I'll include a memory card and usb cable (which I'll have to purchase). Thanks

It all depends on who ran the assembly line when your camera was made... I have had two kodak cameras with the malfunctioned lenses and one that is perfect and I also have a canon that has had no problems. I swear by nikon and am saving to buy one on black friday... Good luck to all.

i think this is a wonderful auction!! :) so cannon said it would cost about 90$ to fix?
Nov 23rd, 2010 at 6:50:51 AM PST by
Original
Yes, exactly $90 for them to fix it, however I think if I had a local camera shop it would be cheaper but I've looked all around where I live and there isn't a repair shop within at least 50 miles of me :(

So if you have a local camera shop you may be able to get it done for less. thanks!
