This is a 1962 Topps #46 JACK BALDSCHUN baseball card.
This is Jack's first ever appearance on a Topps baseball card.

Baldschun was one of the better "early" relievers, when most starting pitchers were still finishing their own games. he played 5 seasons with the Phillies, appearing in 333 games (all as a reliever) and collecting 39 wins and 59 saves during that time. he placed in the top 5 in the NL in saves for 3 consecutive years. He would later pitch with the Cincinnati Reds and the inaugural San Diego Padres team, being part of the trade that sent Frank Robinson from the Reds to the Baltimore Orioles (Jack had only been an Oriole for 3 days when the trade occurred).
For his career, the screwball specialist allowed an average of only one home run per 15 1/2 innings pitched.
