Red coral is difficult to find. Necklace with red coral (slightly larger pieces than inhave listed) usually sell for upwards of 80$. You will not find these in your regular beading shop.
Nice!Red Coral is found very deep down in the ocean ,, I think the darker it is the further down it was. It's hard for divers to get it, and diving is he only way I know they find it. As far as I know it's "Branch Coral" meaning it's from sealife that looks just like a branch, then the cut it and drill the tiny holes then each piece is polished, it was very popular in the 1920's through the 1950's , and hard to find because not too many divers are willing to go down to get it. It's become more scarce over time. These are a beautiful color! I made earrings out of 6 beads on gold wire, 3 beads on each as dangle earrings, I get lots of compliments on them!! Very nice auction! F &W Fan me back if you get a chance.
