I won this laptop on Listia with the intention of using it as a learning tool for repair purposes. It is beyond my expertise and patience. This laptop is for a techie and NOT for someone who wants a working laptop. Questions from potential bidders are very welcome, but winner's complaints are not. Caveat emptor. Sold AS IS.

Bad News ~

1. This is a dinosaur and heavier than modern laptops.
2. Its battery no longer supplies power and does not maintain a charge. It will be included.
3. I can't get to the BIOS for updating.
4. The system is locked.
5. I can't format it.
6. Error message PXE:E05: LAN adapters configuration is corrupted or has not been initialized. Boot agent cannot continue.
7. Error message: PMM is not installed or is not working correctly.
8. The exterior of the case has some gouges and scratches.


Good News ~

1. This laptop maintains power with its wall charger, which is included. The wall charger securely fits into its port.
2. The screen and keyboard are in very good condition. The screen is not dead. No missing keys.
3. The CD tray opens and closes properly. It tries to read.
4. The Thinkpad was built to last and was considered one of the better buys of its day. I once owned a different one and it served me well. I used it to teach computer classes using PowerPoint. I sold it four years later, still working like new.
