Questions & Comments
NIce auction,David...good to see you around again...
I think the whole lot consisted of duplicates, this is Doug...by the way,I left the comment. As soon as I got them,I started putting together the yearly series, you know the little upside down triangle on the cover,I realized I had alot for a particular year...There were quite a few of the first full appearances of Doomsday included in the lot,I checked the value for them on www.comicspriceguide.com,and they are worth 12.00...however,money value is not what I'm about,it's more about sentimental value, something to pass on to our daughters when they get to be my age...Anyways,right now,we are low on funds/shipping funds,to make any auctions, because everyone bids on free auctions only.I would really like to show you my collection, however I would need a facebook accont for that...talk to you soon
yeah, that's what I do as well. We got 4 children and I've been collecting for decades. I have dups of many books especially key books. I don't mind a shipping fee if the book is a key book and the shipping fee assures me it will get here safely.I got tons of books but I wouldn't dare list them on facebook. Crooks scan it for ideas.lol,..including the Gov.
What? All I was going to do,was"show-off"my collection of comics and toys...Because that's my hobby, and people wanna know what do,that's what I do...Alot of my stuff is current,I have a really nice run of the 2nd series X-Men stuff, some Uncanny X-Men comics too...and I'm trying to find the remaining chapters of the Batman Knightfall story,I think?I have almost all,but I know it goes on into Knightquest, and KnightsEnd...?I have one whole longbx with 90%Batman and Superman comics, the rest are just random titles...Maybe you can help?
Sweet.I do have some of the comics from that story line.Let me know and I'll look. I have all but #1 and King-size #1 to have the 1st 225 issues of the 1st series of X-Men(uncanny). I bought all of them plus the next 200 issues for 200$,...lol...I have a wanted list hung at the place I work and the Dude called me. He was well aware of what he had he just wanted to get rid of them. The #94 had a 145$ price tag on it. #2 is roouuggh but intact. He also gave me about a dozen statues that I sold most of to cover the 200 investment and the 226-450 were clear profit and my collection of X-stuff near complete. I buy them all the time at great deals and book price.Give me that list.
I will get a list together of what I need for the Batman Knightfall storyline,I know one for sure for that story, the other Two-Face Showcase(Batman is on the cover, has small pictures in his gauntlet...not sure what number it is though, but I know that much about it.I would also like to find the Superman comic,I think it's #75,with the factory bag(black with silver"S'')...However my funds are very very low right now,I have an interview tomorrow. That being said, please keep me in mind about this list and the comics I need,I will get ahold of you when I have the means to buy them from you...Thanks for looking out, from one collector to another...Talk to you soon,David
Will do,brother man!Honestly,I started collecting this good ol'stuff about 3 yrs.ago, when we moved here...Being a husband and a father of 2 little girls, and having time to collect comics means alot, and alot of people just don't appreciate comics anymore, lots of eye rolling, and the old"Ya gotta stay away from the comics that have dollar prices on them...heh,well that's too bad...it's nostalgia,it's fun and it' worth it.I will definitely get ahold of you,as soon as possible...
I had to quit worrying about the eye-roll and crap. I mean you will run into some ,...odder than usual, people in this industry but most respect the distance you require of them. Let me know when you can, take care of them girls, too.
Will do...People like that are just plain out bullies, wishin they had what you and me have(comics)...Oh well.Going for my job interview today...hope I get it?fingers crossed.
I think they wish they were OK enough with themselves that COULD enjoy comics and not worry about what the "others" think. Good Luck on that interview. Go in confident enough to take the job and ask nicely for it and always remember the thank you letter, keeps you on their minds. Later on.
Thanks, but I might try and get my job back at Lowe's,that seems to be the best paying store here in town.Hopefully that turns out better than anything else.Anyways...I found out which Batman comics I need for that storyline, part 14,and anything after part 19...hopefully that makes sense, and the sooner I land a job,the sooner I can do business with you...Thanks again, keep in touch,I sent you a request on Facebook,it's under Lory's name...look for the 2 dragons heart.
Sure thing, I'll check the facebook thing. I don't much due to the drama people love but, I reserve time and space for people who would rather not deal with drama.lol. I'll look for those comics. I am sure I have some ,...those exact numbers I won't know until then. Ye-ah, a good steady job with benif's is well worth taking a little crap to keep these days.
True,true...Don't wanna count the dragons before they spawn, but bills come first, and I will for sure put up with a little b/s from someone, just to get by...the only thing I've been buying that I can really afford, are Hot Wheels...Thanks again, you've been a great help, and a good friend...See ya around,David...
lol, we collect a lot of the same stuff. I gotta very large carrying case full mixed yrs ,that I have found over the years.MY wife is a realtor and at one time I got to clean out the foreclosures, oh freakin' A those were the days. I could keep it all and get paid for cleaning it,...Banks pay well, too. Cleaned a 3800 square ft house once and these people just left nearly every thing. I made a freakin' killin' off that one and my wife sold the house. Double bubble. Anyway, I got hotwheels, too. Recently found a "Cooters' truck and a General Lee still in the blister pack. Anyway, good luck smackin' that new job around. We might be able to do some trading and keep the cash out of it, my wife really likes it when I talk like that.lol. Holla.
That's cool. When it comes to Hot Wheels for me,I buy what I like,I have everything from muscle cars to classic cars,ALOT of first editions from previous yrs.,some crazy lookin'ones. My favorites are the bigger scale Batmobiles, even the '66 TV Show car...And of course, mine are still in the packs as well...They were all in a 35 gal.tote, but I had to put some in 2 separate boxes, all my 2013 models, the"older"ones are in a clear tote with collector cases on them...
I like what I like. I don't care too much about the price guide. I use it to keep in touch with trends and obvious opportunity to make money but as far as my personal collection goes, I get what I want only and usually pay much less than book value to get it. The batmobiles are some of the coolest. Some of the wacked out 70's cars are cool, too. My favorite is my "drop race" champion car from my grandmother's neighborhood when I was 9.NO ONE could beat my orange Volkswagen beetle with German helmeted driver, airplane wing and 2 jet engines on top.Sitting now at the from of my display case. I own 1 F-150 daily driver and 6 Volkswagens ratrods, customs and a stocker. It's amazing how much early childhood follows you forever. My 1st comic was Swampthing #10 at age 3. I should not have had that imagery in my head at that age but it crafted an appreciation for the macabre and weird that etched my soul rather deep. I met the artist(Bernie Wrightston) at Heroes comic-con Last month. Great moment, I thanked him for corrupting me and all the great stuff that came from it. Alright we gonna blow some stuff up now. Happy 4th bro".
Happy 4th,right back to ya,man!Great moments indeed...my childhood consisted of Ninja Turtles,Ghostbusters, and other superheroes.I have some very sentimental things, whether it be comics,or Hot Wheels...Lory completely lost count of my comics after 1,000(but hey not bad for livin and taking care of family).Once I realized all the great storylines, and chapter this and chapter that...Lory asked me,if ever she bought me comics, what I would want...I said anything with a cool shiny cover,or first issues, and even some"plain janes"...But yeah,man...I'm not too picky(non-condition wise)and picky with condition of anything I buy...Well,David it's been real man,so I'll get back 'atcha soon...Be safe, and try not to pull a Michael Bay(just kiddin')...
Ah,you'll be alright...still no luck with a job(grrr!)this economy sucks anyway.I have sme credits to spare, something around 3200 something,do you have anything right now you could spare as far as X-Men?
