there is amethyst that u can get anywhere. which is lighter in color. then African which is the color u see here. then the best is Uruguay which is the deepest unheated purple. and yyes I make rings and such.

I was stating that it looks like it. as the stones don't change no matter how old the ring is. I'm not a expert but I do collect and make jewelry. All I'm trying to say is you have a great piece there. there are 3 different kinds of purple amethyst. and African is in the middle.
