Description

The listing, 10 Mimosa Tree seeds. Very beautiful tree that grows fast! has ended.

These seeds will germinate on their own in your yard or you can start them inside in potting soil. The seed pods are toxic. The fern-like leaves are beautiful and in late summer there are very fragrant flowers! This tree will drop the seedpods in the fall and will start new trees if you don't mow them down. Very ornamental in your landscape. Feel free to ask questions and I or my Master Gardner husband will answer a.s.a.p. Thanks for looking and happy gardening! God Bless!!

Hi, I remember these from my childhood when I went to visit my Grandparents in Oklahoma City. At least I think I do, so my questions may be silly. My memory is that they grow to large tree's and when there leaves are touched they fold in? Anyway, I would love to have some. Can you tell me about how much they grow per year?, will they bloom the 1st year? I live on the Oregon coast, will they like the weather here? It is generally mild temps and rain:) although we also have very nice late/Indian summers. Thanks for any info you can share, Renee

Hi. The grow up to 20 feet tall. There may be varieties that close when you touch the leaves but this one closes at night. They grow very fast, up to 5-6 feet per season. It depends on your soil but they may bloom the first year. They should do great in Oregon. Thanks for asking and happy gardening! God Bless!!

Thank you Susie. I don't have many credits, but I will bid and if I am lucky I will get them and be able to have living memories of my grandfather :) I looked up a little info and I think it is the smaller plants that are from the same family that are the ones that close when touched, sometimes they are called "sensitivity plants", the small ones that is :) fanned and watching with great anticipation, Renee
